Notice is hereby given that meeting of the Jefferson City Council will be held on March 19, 2019 at 5:30 pm at the Jefferson City Hall located at 102 N. Polk Street, Jefferson, Texas, at which time the subjects to be discussed or considered or upon which any formal action may be taken are as listed below. Items do not have to be in the order shown on the meeting notice. Unless removed from the consent agenda, items identified with the consent agenda will be acted on at one time.

Public comments-Limited to Citizens and Business Owners of the City of Jefferson, must sign up in advance on the list located near the door of the Council Chambers and must limit to 3-minutes conversation. Jefferson City Council may ask questions but shall not discuss items that are not on the agenda. On a subject that is not posted on the agenda a person may add an item to a future City Council Agenda by contacting City Hall a minimum of 5 days prior to a regular City Council Meeting.

6. CONSENT AGENDA

1). Consider and/or approve minutes of February 25, 2019 and March 4, 2019 meeting.
2). Consider and/or approve Monthly Financial Report.
3). Consider and/or approve Joint Election Agreement Between the Jefferson Independent
School District and The City of Jefferson.
4). Consider and/or approve closing Austin Street in front of Jefferson Institute on April 6,
2019 from 7:00pm through 12:00am for the Jefferson Prom.
5). Consider and/or approve a request for permission to park the student’s cars in the
Marion County Courthouse parking lot and in the parking lot of the Jefferson Tourism
Center.
6). Consider and/or approve Street Closure for the Historic Jefferson Foundation to produce
The “Battle for Jefferson,” a Civil War Re-Enactment to be held May 3 through May 5, 2019 in
Conjunction with the Jessie Allen Wise Garden Club’s annual “Pilgrimage.”

ACTION ITEMS

1). Consider and/or approve First Amendment to Paramedic Ambulance Agreement with the City
Of Jefferson.
2). Discuss, consider and/or approve for mowing service for the City of Jefferson.
3). Discuss, consider and/or approve By Laws of Jefferson Convention and Visitors Bureau Board.
4). Consider and/or approve By Laws for Jefferson Economic Development Corp.

5). Consider and/or approve a RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A TEXAS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK
GRANT PROGRAM APPLICATION TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE FOR THE
2019 PLANNING AND CAPACITY BUILDING FUND; AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACT AS
THE CITY’S EXECUTIVE OFFICER AND AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE IN ALL MATTERS
PERTAINING TO THE CITY’S PARTICIPATION IN THE TEXAS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM.
6). Discuss, consider and/or approve termination from the Marion County Chamber of Commerce
the short-term contract with the City of Jefferson to provide services and personnel to cover
the vacancies in the Tourism Department.
7). Consider and/or approve hiring of for the Tourism Department.
8). Consider and/or approve an approval, or if the council have no objection to the plan of
splitting of lot located at 601 E. Jefferson Street and 508 S. Bridge Street into two (2)
separate parcels.
9). Consider and/or approve easement for Fikes Wholesale for drainage on Tuttle Street.

7. EXECUTIVE SESSION
The Jefferson City Council reserves the right to adjourn into Executive Session at any time
during the course of this meeting to discuss any of the matters listed, as authorized by Texas Government Code.
