Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the Jefferson City Council will be held on September 21, 2021 at 6:00 PM at the Transportation Center at 305 E. Austin Street, Jefferson, Texas, at which time the subjects to be considered or upon which any formal action may be taken are as listed below. Items do not have to be taken in the order shown on the meeting notice. Unless removed from the consent agenda, items identified with the consent agenda will be acted on at one time.

Public Comments – Limited to citizens and business owners of the City of Jefferson, must sign up in advance on the list and must limit to 3 minutes conversation. Jefferson City Council may ask questions but shall not discuss items that are not on the agenda. On a subject that is not on the agenda a person may add an item to a future City Council Agenda by contacting City Hall a minimum of 5 days prior to a regular City Council Meeting

a. Consider and/or approve Ordinance No. 2021-09-21 to Adopt the 2021-2022 Fiscal Year Budget
b. Consider and/or approve Ordinance No. 2021-09-22-2 – Levying a Tax Rate for the City of Jefferson for the Tax Year 2021 (0.450000 Total Tax Rate) * This year’s tax levy to fund maintenance and operations expenditures does not exceed last year’s maintenance and operations tax levy.
c. Consider and/or approve 2020 Financial Audit (presentation by Jordan Shaw)
d. Consider and/or approve raising monthly salary to $1500 effective Oct 1, 2021 (in budget)
e. Consider and/or approve payment of $13,000 to FOJA, payable Oct 1, 2021 (in budget)
f. Consider and/or approve payment of approximately $6000 for second of two payments for the City’s Redistricting program 2021-22, due Oct 31, 2021
g. Consider and/or approve hiring of City Secretary from Committee recommendation
h. Consider and/or approve quote from Lawler Construction of $6,400 to reconnect fire suppression line on the DeWare’s building
i. Consider and/or approve widening of sidewalk on Vale St. next to the Jefferson Hotel for $14,090 as per Lawler Construction quote
j. Consider and/or approve the requirement that all lodging establishments register with the City and then display their Lodging Certificate in a prominent location
k. Consider and/or approve the CVB Board to apply to The Texas Music Office to become a member of the “Music Friendly Community”
l. Consider and/or approve a request from Rose Haggerty to vacate the alley located behind 204 and 206 E. Moseley Street
m. Consider and/or approve modified building permit for James Souter, 520 N. Walnut, to include concrete driveway, concrete patio area and removal and replacement of sidewalk
n. Consider and/or approve building permit for Allen Wayne Smith for the construction of duplexes on Main St. between Douglas and Webster Streets
o. Consider and/or approve building permit for James L. Brookshire for concrete driveway at 1204 S. Main Street
p. Consider and/or approve Event application for “National Night Out” October 5, 2021 (Billy Ramsey)
q. Consider and/or approve application by Sacred Spur Carriage to operate an amusement ride
r. Consider and/or approve the Jefferson Community Law Enforcement Partnership (JCLEP) meet & greet

9. EXECUTIVE SESSION
The Jefferson City Council reserves the right to adjourn into Executive Session at any time
during the course of this meeting to discuss any of the matters listed above, as authorized
by Texas Government Code.
