Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the Jefferson City Council will be held on Tuesday January 18, 2022 at 5:30 PM at the Transportation Center at 305 E. Austin Street, Jefferson, Texas, at which time the subjects to be considered or upon which any formal action may be taken are as listed below.  Items do not have to be taken in the order shown on the meeting notice.  Unless removed from the consent agenda, items identified with the consent agenda will be acted on at one time.

Public Comments – Limited to citizens and business owners of the City of Jefferson, must sign up in advance on the list and must limit to 3 minutes conversation.  Jefferson City Council may ask questions but shall not discuss items that are not on the agenda.  On a subject that is not on the agenda a person may add an item to a future City Council Agenda by contacting City Hall a minimum of 5 days prior to a regular City Council Meeting

10. ACTION ITEMS

a. Consider and/or approve the Oakwood Cemetery Association to pay for cameras to be installed and the $240 monthly maintenance fee for the installed cameras.

b. Consider and/or approve Bob Thomas presentation on approving JEDCO funding for the glass project.

c. Consider and/or approve the Marjorie Weatherall Building Permit (Near 705 Lee St.)

d. Consider and/or approve Rod Rodriguez Building Permit (306 E. Watson tabled from 12/21/21)

e. Consider and/or approve paying $265 invoice for repair of damage to 2 rims/tires on Tremayne Nelson’s car due the manhole located on Broadway in front of carwash.

f. Consider and/or approve the agreement for professional services between the City of Jefferson and Schaumburg & Polk, Inc. (SPI), for the Emergency Preparedness Plan required by TCEQ

g. Consider and/or approve refinancing the City of Jefferson, TX Water/Wastewater Refunding Bonds, Series 2021 $890,000.00

h. Consider and/or approve installing a stop sign on Clarksville St. at the intersection of Soda St.

i. Consider and/or approve approve raising the Police Chief salary

j. Consider and/or approve purchasing vacation time back from Police Chief Perez

o. Consider and/or approve adding the Burn Rally to the City of Jefferson Holiday Schedule to be observed on Friday, October 7, 2022

p. Consider and/or approve adding an additional full day or half day for Thanksgiving to the City of Jefferson Holiday Schedule and to be observed on Wednesday, November 23, 2022

q. Consider and/or approve adding an additional full day or half day for Christmas to the City of Jefferson Holiday Schedule to be observed on Thursday, December 22, 2022

r. Consider and/or approve adding a standing monthly 4th Tuesday meeting for ordinances until we cancel (post completion of ordinance reviews/rehash)

s. Consider and/or approve ordinance amending Chapter 90, Art. IV. Sec. 90-192 of the City of Jefferson Ordinances: Operation of golf carts to allow Off-road vehicle use.

 

11. EXECUTIVE SESSION

The Jefferson City Council reserves the right to adjourn into Executive Session at any time during the Course of the meeting to discuss any of the matters listed above, as authorized by the Texas Government Code.
