SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING

TRANSPORTATION CENTER

TUESDAY, JUNE 7, 2022 @ 6:30 P.M.

 

Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the Jefferson City Council will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 6:30 PM at the Transportation Center at 305 E. Austin Street, Jefferson, Texas, at which time the subjects to be considered or upon which any formal action may be taken are as listed below.  Items do not have to be taken in the order shown on the meeting notice.  Unless removed from the consent agenda, items identified with the consent agenda will be acted on at one time.

Public Comments – Limited to citizens and business owners of the City of Jefferson, must sign up in advance on the list and must limit to 3 minutes conversation.  Jefferson City Council may ask questions but shall not discuss items that are not on the agenda.  On a subject that is not on the agenda a person may add an item to a future City Council Agenda by contacting City Hall a minimum of 5 days prior to a regular City Council Meeting

5. MAYORS COMMENT

a. Jedco & Tourism nomination reminder for newly elected officials

b. Chamber contract requirements/desired components to be emailed to Baker asap

c. Boyd 6-month reviews to be filled out and sent to Mayor

 

6. CONSENT AGENDA (City Council reserves the right to remove items from the Consent Agenda and consider and/or approve individually)

a. Consider and/or approve the Juneteenth Parade event application to be held on June 18, 2022 at 3:30 pm.

b. Consider and/or approve Texas Farm Bureau Pole Sign Permit. (204 N. Walcott St.) (Tabled from 5/17/22)

 

7. ACTION ITEMS

a. Consider, discuss and/or approve Cliff Bode hiring someone to dig along the property line of the Jefferson General Store to help determine the location of the water leaking into the Jefferson General Store.

b. Consider and/or approve Marion Central Appraisal District 2023 Operating Budget

c. Consider, discuss and/or approve Tammy Bennett request for reimbursement of payment for two (2) invoices totaling $865.00 for inspection to locate sewer stop up and rotor rooter clean out that was on the city side. (Tabled from 4/19/2022 and 5/17/22)

d. Consider, discuss and/or approve purchase up to $4,000 for replacement of one police in-car video and audio recording system and four data wireless download devices for said system and systems previously installed in Police fleet.

8. DISCUSSION ITEMS

a. Discuss and sharing of thoughts on local homeless individuals

b. Discuss follow up on tabled items

c. Discuss and consider Ordinance No. 2016-07-01 Establishing and fixing the duties of a City Planning and Zoning Commission within the City of Jefferson, Texas

d. Discuss and consider changes to Chapter 18 – Buildings and Building Regulations Ordinance

e. Discuss and consider changes to the City of Jefferson Application for Building Permit

f. Discuss and consider what ordinance to review next

g. Discuss and consider changes to Chapters 1-6 of the City of Jefferson Employee Handbook with consideration of the previous City of Jefferson Employee Handbook dated January 2000

h. Discuss and consider reviewing additional chapters of the City of Jefferson Employee Handbook or taking more time to review Chapters 1-6
