Notice is hereby given that a Meeting of the Jefferson City Council will be held on September 14, 2023 at 6:30 PM at the Jefferson Transportation Center at 305 E. Austin Street, Jefferson, Texas, at which time the subjects to be discussed or considered or upon which any formal action may be taken are as listed below.

4. DISCUSSION ITEM – Public Hearing on the Proposed Budget for the 2023/2024 Fiscal Year.
ANY RESIDENT IN ATTENDANCE MAY ADDRESS THE COUNCIL REGARDING THE PROPOSED BUDGET FOR THE OCTOBER 1, 2023 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 2024 FISCAL YEAR.
This budget will raise more revenue from property taxes than last year’s budget by an amount of $72,558, which is an 8.97 percent increase from last year’s budget. The property tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year is $17,136.

a. Consider and/or approve Ordinance No. 2023-09-1 to Adopt the 2023-2024 Fiscal Year Budget

The members of the boards, commissions and/or committees may participate in discussions on the same items listed on the agenda, which occur at the meeting, but no action will be taken by such in attendance unless such item and action is specifically provided for an on an agenda for that board, commission or committee subject to the Texas Open Meetings Act.
